St Francis Catholic Primary

St Francis Primary School

Year 4

We had a fabulous time creating our lunch box recipes for the Mini Masterchef competition!

The mini master chef competition was held at St Edward's school. The children had to create a healthy lunch box for 2 people with maximum cost of £5!  Each school held in-house heats to decide which team of 2 would represent their school in the final.  All of our class 4 applied.
Oliver and Gabriel's dish was a delicious mackerel salad with red onions, chickpeas and parsley served with a dressing of olive oil, grain mustard and lemon juice served with toasted wholemeal pitta bread then a fruit salad made with mango, strawberries and grapes with lemon juice and bottle of water each. They had 45 minutes to prepare and 1 hour to cook! All cooks were awarded a certificate for reaching the final, a wonderful 100 recipe cook book and a judge (who came from China) gave them a set of authentic ornate chopsticks each!  They were nervous but did very well!  A credit to St Francis!
